Who we are
Pages on ByTheMath and on YourBestSavings, YourBestCards, YourBestLoanRates, YourBestCreditBuilder and YourBestTaxes are written, checked and published by the YourBest Editorial Team. We credit the team rather than individual writers because every published number goes through the same sourcing and review process.
Where the data comes from
Rates, fees, terms and requirements come from each bank, credit union, card issuer or lender’s own website and disclosures. Each product record carries an as-of date showing when it was last checked against that source. We do not use figures we cannot trace back to the institution.
How it is verified every day
An automated scanner checks the source page of tracked products every day. When it detects a change, the change is flagged for a person on the team to review against the institution’s site before it is applied. A scanner flag alone never changes a published rate. Records that go too long without re-verification are flagged as stale. The scoring rules are on the methodology page.
Editorial independence
No institution can pay to be included or ranked higher. Some YourBest sites show ads or earn a commission from some links; affiliate status never changes a score, a ranking or which rates we show. Rankings are ordered by the same scores whether or not a link pays. See the editorial policy.
Corrections
If you find an error, email contact@bythemath.com with the subject “Data correction,” the page address and, if possible, a source link. We check the claim against the institution’s site, correct confirmed errors and log significant ones. Read the full corrections policy.
