Savings rate studies
Each month we measure what happened to US savings, money market and CD rates across the thousands of products we verify at the source: median APYs at the start and end of the month, CD medians by term, and how many rates rose or fell.

How the studies work
Every study is generated from the same change log that powers the YourBestSavings rate history, using one fixed method: the same products are compared at the start and end of the month, and every recorded APY change is counted once. A month is published as “month to date” while it is running and finalized after it ends; finished months are not recalculated. Each study explains its sample, its limits and links to the numbers as JSON. The scoring and verification behind the data are described in the methodology.
